/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit sources /etc/sysconfig/rsyslog but doesn't pass the
options during startup,  can easily be fixed by adding $SYSLOG_OPTIONS ( or
what the variable is called, I do not have the netbook at hand to find exactly
)


the variables are passed for syslogd and klogd, just not for rsyslog
